Pros and Cons of Outsourcing

Companies today often choose to get employees from outside sources usually even from another geographic region. This is called offshoring.

Outsourcing means borrowing skilled workers from a vendor company. The agents can be hired temporarily or on a per contract scheme.

In the last decade or so, it is common practice to have what they called "dedicated teams". These are groups of offshore workers picked because of their certain expertise. Firms who are hired benefit but sometimes others do not.

Outsourced employees are advantageous than hiring professional workers or should we say in house workers. Businesses get qualified workers when they are needed and end their work at the end of a certain task or project. With this strategy, companies save time and money by not expending on unnecessary tasks. The money saved can then be used to fund other projects or to be used for upgrades or training. Workers currently under the company may be kept in reserve or they may be retrenched in time. Most of the time, the offshore workers perform better than the current ones working in-house. A lot of experts are showing disgust and concern because of this so called alarming drain of gifted American workers because companies favor offshore workers who are based in another geographical region.

One advantage a lot of companies have that hire these offshore workers is that they aren't require to pay federal or state taxes. The offshore firms have it taken care of. No more extraeous costs to cover. This is a big plus for business who are seeking to lessen their costs of operation.

One thing also, is that offshore workers aren't required to ask for compensations or even benefits. With such cost reducing measures, its a great advantage for companies especially for small ones. However, without taxes paid, there will be certain parts of the national welfare system that will suffer because their resources which are taxes aren't paid. Because of these , certain areas in America are putting a ban on using outsourcing especially the offshore kind. Well, it all depends on the company. Being a responsible citizen would really help a lot if it really needs to outsource. Either offshore or in-house, whatever the situation may be.

BPO, Will It Save The American Economy?

The controversy still continues. A lot of sectors are divided on the issue that outsourcing is killing off American jobs. Some say that BPO is one of the business schemes that is helping the US economy survive the economic slump. Some are somewhat neutral on the stand. They say its neither good or bad. It just now a part of our everyday business life.

Whatever the case may be, it is true that outsourcing is gonna be with us for a long time. More companies find it favorable for them to incorporate this business practice into their own. Before we delve in to the subject even further, we must have a deeper understanding on how outsourcing can affect your business. Knowing the advantages and disadvantages will surely clear things up. That way we will be able to see if this business practice can or cannot help in your business.

OK, so lets hear from the yays. A lot of them say outsourcing is a great survival tactic especially for medium to small businesses. Business save a lot on the expenses just by taking in an offshore outsourcing worker. So, for a small company, this is very beneficial since they already started with a meager capital on their business. Getting a regular in-house worker would be very costly. The outsource workers who are based in the Philippines and in India are coming from a pool of qualified professionals who are making outsourcing very enticing and attractive to companies and homegrown businesses in the US and in other developed nations.

On the other side of the fence are individuals who are complaining about the ills that outsourcing has brought to the U.S. The most obvious negative effect of outsourcing is the fact that it is taking away jobs that are supposed to be for Americans. As unemployment statistics rise, the number of people blaming outsourcing as the main culprit also increases. If you are one of those unemployed individuals right no, it would be understandable that you will be upset about outsourcing too. Thinking that your job is taken away buy some Asians is really hard to accept.

On the other hand, there are those who oppose it. They say outsourcing is killing of American jobs and has the making of a harbinger of economic disaster. Statistically there are a lot of people getting unemployed today in the US and they have the BPO as the main culprit for their career demise. If you're one of the unlucky few who have lost their jobs it it easy to see why these people blame it on the other party or should I say the party on the other part of the world. The mentality of seeing that my job is now being undertaken by an outsider is quite a hard thing to swallow.

Picking Out A Software Company To Help You

With the economic crisis in the midst, business owners from around the globe are finding ways to get professional help at a lower cost. These times have forced a lot of companies to take advantage of outsourcing services whenever they can.

A new one to enter the market is Software development. Its a relatively new niche in the market. There are a lot of companies out there with a myriad collection of applications and easy to use software. Picking out a competitive one within the budget would be quite hard. But there are ways of straining and picking them out of the fray.

Rich and Wide Experience: Today Software Development is an all encompassing term that includes all types of customized applications. Before you select a software development company, speak with your management team about the software solution you need and check the providers competencies in that field.

Make sure you check their credentials. Research online. Check their pages, their portfolio even their personal pages would offer you a glimpse of their performance and authenticity. Testimonials are very good indicators also check their goals, what they've achieved and their mark in the business world before you tie up with them.

Track if they have referrals. Credentials and testimonials can be preset or sometimes it can be falsified. So, it is good to check their previous clients about their performance. There you can ask questions regarding the costs, how they'll be able to help you, how you communicate and scheduling on your differences in time zone. As you can see most offshore/outsourced agents belong to the opposite part of the world. Like if you're an American, most agents belong to India or in the Philippines.

Know your needs first. Once you've gotten them down, look for companies that match. Just picking it for its closeness to the topic is not enough. In the long run it could spell disaster to you company. A near perfect match would be great. For example if you're looking for a CMS based website like Joomla then it would be best if you have somebody work on it with Joomla experience.

Keep secured. This is often left out. Business details should never be left out in the light. Talk about the security issues that you might encounter before finalizing the deal with an outsource company.

Well, it sure is a complicated process. There are a lot of things to plan out before picking out an outsourcing firm. From checking them out to what they can offer you. India has a lot to offer. Different professional services at a low price has been their motto. So it would be best to open up Google and start looking for outsourcing companies. You'll get professional services at a lower cost.

Outsourcing to India

Outsourcing only became popular on the advent of the internet a decade ago. Cross continental cables encasing fiber optic cables have made the internet cheaper and affordable when connecting between continents. Having cheap blazing fast internet has spawned thousands of small internet entrepreneurs all around the globe boosting economy everywhere.

People who have used computers since they were young would remember that sending a megabyte file would take ages to send over a modem connection, today that same amount would take a mere second or even less. Thousands of outsourcing companies and individuals popped up and started offering their services because of these.

Outsourcing started to grow when India with its pool of English proficient workers who are capable of giving high quality output at a cheaper cost. American and European countries saw that having their non core tasks done offshore proved to be profitable for them rather than having an inhouse employee. India tops the list but there are other Asian nation that showed prowess in this field.

Outsourcing is not just the "here today, gone tomorrow" type of phenomenon. It is here to stay and for a very long time. Schools have now integrated in their curriculum involving math and great emphasis on computer skills. The education system is somewhat different in India than that in American and European countries. They put importance on creativity as well as innovation. Rote learning and math concepts are mostly the ones Indian schools are putting great emphasis on. Therefore, because it is instilled in these Indian graduates the skills of problem solving and number crunching. Americans are more refined at marketing on the other hand.

Globalization has also had a major role to play in the offshore outsourcing phenomenon. Rising cost pressures forced companies to rethink their cost structures and business models which resulted in a globally distributed supply chain and work force. Work all over the world now goes to that location where it can be done best and at the lowest cost. On the basis of this cardinal macroeconomic principle, one can say that India will continue to retain its leadership position in the offshore outsourcing space.

Global integration has also contributed to the boom in offshore outsourcing. Increased operational costs put a great strain on the resources of the companies. So, they had to reorganize their budget structures. This is where outsourcing comes in. Having work output professionally and competitively one is one good factor and another is that it is lower in cost. Still, India is very aggressive in the offshoring industry which makes it a global leader in this field.

The Positive and Negative Effects of Outsourcing

Still not outsourcing today? Then you're not saving any money and work isn't done well. Soon, your competitors will overtake you. The good thing about getting outsourced jobs is that they've really helped a lot of businessowners. Also some people worry about its bad effects on their home country's economy. Wait a minute? Why would a business that is immensely helped by ouutsourcing be a bad thing for the economy? A lot has been said about outsourcing leeching out the economy but people who are saying this probably do not have a clear picture of its advantages.

There are a lot of good things when it comes to outsourcing. One of the top ones are its cheap cost and savings for the owner in the long run. What if you're a small company, every cent counts. A sure fire way to save money is by outsourcing some of the non-core tasks of your business. Countries like India, Philippines and China offer outsourcing at a cheaper price. And what's great about them is that a lot of these guys are qualified professionals.

But make sure that you understand this, there are a lot of things to consider when you outsource. One, culture differences.  The way they run things may not be entirely the same as the way you do things in your home country. Do consider that. Research ahead the country you'll be taking services from. Check the way they do things, the way they work, their whole characteristic as a nation. Take note of their holidays and customs. You don't want to be caught unawares. They may be on a holiday and you are not. That would be bad for your business. Take note of their political climate also. Being in a midst of a political turmoil can greatly affect your business since you've got no one to rely on now.

A good way to get a sort of a complete package is to get an outsourcing firm. They will be able to handle your outsourcing needs. They do the hard part of looking for a professional worker or agent. They know where to look  and they have taken care of the nitty gritty for you.

Outsourcing is the in thing now and will also be the driving force in the future. If your not in it, then your business might need that extra boost it can provide.

Delegate the Boring Stuff, Outsource them

If you are looking to get your online business fully automated by outsourcing, in particular search engine optimimisation. Which is highly effective to get you free traffic but some of the tasks are very repetitive and boring.

SEO can be done without any need for further supervision. It is fully automated.

Outsourcing is one way for SEO  or Search Engine Optimization to effectively get free traffic. The only downside is that it tends to be quite monotonous and can really get boring.

Getting the best labor is the formost important thing as well as the price and of course quality work. People say that's hard to get by with outsourcing. But actually it is not.

Therefore work you don't wanna do in the company must be outsourced somewhere. You just can't live without it. So things that are repetitive probably unenjoyable should be delegated to someone. If you like one particular task, then continue working with it. For example your good with PR and marketing then stick to that. If your not good with bookkeeping or editing websites or making web designs then have someone do it. Most of these work can be outsourced for a minimal fee.

In the Philippines, there's an agent there who works at a 40 dollar pay rate for 20 hours of link building. He does a great job because the traffic being brought to the site is pretty quite big.

A lot of Filipinos are workaholics and very dedicated to their work. On some jobs though, you can have tasks done on a set period. After the project is done then the contract is over and you are free to get to work with them again if they're good or you can look for another if the performance isn't up to par.

You need to employ people on short term tasks. Maybe pick two at a time and compare which person works best for you. Once you are happy with that person, then you increase the amount of hours each week and the maybe fulltime. Provided you have the cashflow to support them.

Check out your potential workers before you actually hire them. Even better if you can go out on a test run, a free trial. Just to see if they make the cut. If not, then change them. If you're good to go with that one the increment additional hours of work to them up to fulltime. Or why not get 3 or 4 people to work on a single task and check out whose the best among them. The law of averages also apply here. Reward them too. Incentives work well and they tend to work better and harder. And that's another plus for your business too.

Written Articles too hard? Outsource them

The reasons:

It's very convenient. If you're just like any busy Internet marketer, you might not have even a couple of minutes to tap on your keyboard. As you need articles to grow your ebusiness, you can remedy this problem by getting human beings to do the legwork for you. All you need to do is to give them topics to write and you'll get your articles on the pre-set deadline.

It frees you to do other things. Isn't that good to hear? Business owners tend to be very busy to even be working on the PC and typing. But articles are also the bloodline of business, especially an online one. Save yourself the hassle and hire someone else to do article writing for you. The thing is you just need to give them a couple of topics to write and then you'll be able to have these articles in a predetermined date.

Now that you're free of doing thoses extraneous things, you'll be able to focus on the core tasks of you business. Either you'll be working on productive work like gathering customers or any other revenue producing activity related to your business.

Now, if it is outsourced from another country, lets say Philippines, India or China then you'll be able to save a lot. And they do not have to work full time. It would be just on a per need basis. Also there are no worries when it comes to bonuses and monthly payments.

When the articles are done and submitted. Products and ads are introduced. With the help of autoresponders, then the real deal starts coming in. Customers will start filling up your email addresses and buying from you.

Good writers are an indispensible tool for a lot of American entrepreneurs. People who write with very good content are very much sought after. Their well made articles bring to their clients huge amounts of traffic for their site. Bundle that with other online tools making them a very sought after commodity among American and European online business owners.

Very realistic topic. However, even if outsourcing has its drawbacks, it's not that worse compared to the benefits it give to companies.

Outsourcing is not only morally wrong, but should be made illegal. The only reason the labour is cheaper is the reduced standards of living in India. Rich people are just exploiting poor people to make a profit, so the can buy more shit for themselves.

I have no been out of stable employment for 8 years and I have nothing. The fact is, everyone wants cheap products, but cheap does not make society better.

As it is, I now cost the government more money in welfare and child support. I no longer can pay for my health care or the care of my 3 children.

Poor people in western countries are being ripped off. We are forced to pay high taxes, housing & transport costs, while loosing our income. It doesn’t work!

I would be happy to be paid less, if the cost of living was also less. But, rich people and governments have sucked the life out of the middle class workers.

"Outsourcing is not only morally wrong, but should be made illegal. " Do you think just selling them Marlboros, Coca Cola and MC Donalds Cheese Burger is better then also giving them work? Don't worry they will soon outsource to OUR countrys.

Your situation has nothing to do with outsourcing! And by the way most tasks are outsourced ONSHORE! why you don't open a service yourself ?
