Is Captive Center Management A Good Fit For Your Business?

The new trend of employment in today's online business industry is outsourcing. This method involves a partnership between a customer and an outsourcing vendor. There is no doubt that this is the preferred method for the remote delivery of services as compared to captive center management.

Slowly but surely though, online business owners are finally recognizing the many advantages that captive center has to offer. The business owner will therefore take on the responsibility of setting up a captive facility wherein you will provide the resources needed to perform the core functions of the business. In the process, all work are kept within the company instead of being outsourced to a vendor.

Setting Up Captive Center Facility

There are two notable approaches that business owners can use to set up their own captive center facility.

First, you can build your own captive center from scratch. This is a good approach for those who have enough expertise and resources along with an extensive amount of knowledge about your target market for a successful set up process. Another option would be to purchase an existing company to start off operations. You will therefore be managing your own staff to allow the business to grow organically.

Second, you can go for a Build-Operate-Transfer approach. You will be working closely with a third-party vendor to build the captive center and stabilize it. This is the ideal approach for business owners with limited expertise and knowledge to build the facility on their own. The control of the captive facility is then handed over to the business owner after a predetermined period of time to gain full control of the facility while still enjoying maximum flexibility.

Although the captive center management approach is not applicable to all businesses, those who opt for this business model can expect a lot of benefits from it. These benefits include the following:

  • Real and long-term cost savings

  • Full monitoring and operational control

  • Reduction of risks involved with data security and sensitive business information

  • Ability to commercialize your captive center in the future

  • Competitive advantage and process improvements

  • Ability to stay abreast with the latest industry technologies and knowledge

The captive center is indeed not for everyone. But when it does become successful, it would definitely give huge profits and benefits. However, the success of captive centers are not instant. A lot of hardwork, patience and dedication is needed in order for it to just get off the ground. In order for it to be truly successful, a systematized focus and strategy is needed.
